Ricardo "Ric" Lazo is an educator by profession; and a writer by advocacy. He is also a book editor and a research reader.
He is a professorial lecturer in Political Science, and a special lecturer on governance and administration; labor relations and disputes; human organization and resources; and constitutional issues and reforms.
He holds several national organization memberships in his field of specialization, and participates actively in civic activities.
He earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration as university/college scholar at the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1996. Also, from UP Diliman he recieved a non-degree course in European Languages (Spanish and French) in 1994.
In 1993, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree with major in Political Science ("cum laude") from St. Louis University. There, he served as the President of the Honors' Society of Human Sciences College between 1992 and 1993.
He has served the government on his humble capacity as deputy local government consultant to senior consultancy in the mid-90s, and worked also as marketing and senior sales consultant for one multinational company based in the Philippines. He was a production consultant for an independent producton outfit in theater arts between 1996 and 1999.
Ric Lazo has taught in several colleges and universities in the Philippines which included:

3. DLSU-College of Saint Benilde;
4. Colegio De San Juan De Letran-Manila;
5. FEU- East Asia College;
6. St. Scholastica's College-Manila;
7. College of the Holy Spirit-Manila;
8. San Beda College-Manila; and
9. Manila Doctors' College.
Ric Lazo has authored numerous papers and analyses with political awareness and development as general theme and perspectives.
Ric Lazo has written, as single author, books under Rex Publishing Company in the Philippines, to wit:
1. PHILIPPINE GOVERNANCE AND THE 1987 CONSTITUTION (2006 and 2008 Editions);
2. INTRODUCTION TO POLITICAL SCIENCE (2008 Edition);
3. POLITICS, GOVERNANCE WITH CONSTITUTION (2007 Edition);
4. PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION MADE EASY (2007 Edition);
5. HISTORY, GOVERNMENT AND CONSTITUTION FOR SECONDARY EDUCATION (2008 Edition).
At present, he is writing his sixth book with the title PHILIPPINE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION which may come off the press early 2010, in time for 2010 Philippine national elections.
Ric Lazo is married to Jennifer Isla Tanag, with whom he has three doting children: Rian Matthew; Laura Ysabelle and Leigh Sofia.
